The Seasons
Now winter’s coming to a close
We start another year
All we are looking forward to
Is for springtime to appear

Then soon we’ll see the changes
When the birds begin to sing
As the buds burst open on the trees
We know the time is spring

With snowdrops, crocus daffodils
All coming out in flower
And woods are full of primroses
Where you can spend a quiet hour

And then the spring begins to wane
As summer comes along
And many other flowers have bloomed
With birds in full song

With many days of sunshine
And some hours of rain
It starts more flowers growing
With summer here again

Now we hope for better days
For all the work we’ve done
Then we can go and relax
On holiday in the sun

When the leaves change on the trees
We know that autumn’s here
And summertime is ending
Until another year

To be living in the countryside
When autumn season’s here
With all the lovely coloured leaves
Which are soon to disappear

When the leaves begin to fall
The children have such fun
As they try to catch them
As they drop down one by one

Soon the trees will all be bare
As the winter months draw near
So we shall have to wait until
The autumn comes next year

Now that autumn’s finished
And winter’s come again
With all it’s varied weathers
Of ice and snow and rain

When the winds begin to blow
And brings more snow and sleet
We all are glad to get indoors
By the fire to warm our feet
