Bagley Salisbury 2832 vase
A clear pressed glass vase made by Bagley in their ‘Salisbury’ pattern (2832). Rising from a square foot (with a deeply recessed star or rosette to the underside) the octagonal section body curves upwards and outwards to terminate in a deeply-frilled, four-sided rim. The interior of the body has four distinct flat-topped projections to take an optional disc-shaped Bagley flower frog (3˝ inches diameter in this case). This example has a foot 9cm across the flats, a top rim with ‘sides’ just over 14.5cm across at the widest, 15.5cm high, and weighs 1.005kg.

Introduced in 1932, and in production until 1975, the Salisbury vase was offered in two sizes, one to take a 3 ˝ inch frog (as here) and a larger version to take a 4˝ inch frog.
